Shocking no one I have drawn a girl with red hair.

This is, to be fair to me, a little different to what I’d do normally and is a bit special in the sense that its a full body piece. I do cheap out on the hands and there’s a loss of the style with the addition of the nose and the longer limbs. Proportionally the original from Pinterest I’m using to the left is also ‘cuter’ using a bit of a chibi style of shortening things out. I also got lazy with the shorts, in fact now that I’ve looked at them that left left needs sorting right out…

All that said, I’m pretty pleased with it. Started out as the ten mins of drawing I’ve been trying to do but worked out enough to spend a bit more time and inspired me to do a little on the old blog as well.

The timelapse below just automagically became a YouTube short rather than a video, I guess it might have figured it from the aspect ratio, clever that. I can’t add a link to the description though, less clever that.

I think the reference is from Nate Stevenson, if you’ve not read Nimona then thats something they’ve done and its a lot of fun. If its not them then Nimona’s still good.
